Sheer White Teeth Whitening Strips Review

There seems to be a strong message, and it’s loud and clear: if your teeth aren’t white, there’s something wrong. It seems like every dental company is stocking the shelves with kits that promise whiter teeth in smaller and smaller time frames. With so many options to choose from, and so many places telling you how to get the most out of your choice, where do you ultimately turn? And beyond that, which actually work? Will they fit on your teeth? Will they be comfortable? It’s a tough decision, but let’s narrow it down for you with the Sheer White! 20% Professional Teeth Whitening Strips Kit.

About the Company

This particular whitening kit is brought to us by The CAO Group, which is located in Utah, but also has several facilities in China. They’ve been at the dental game since at least 2000, with one of their first company milestones being a commercial LED dental curing light. According to their website, the vast majority of dental curing lights are now based on their initial design and technology, so when it comes to teeth, CAO is a name that you can trust.

Sheer White Teeth Whitening Strips Instructions

The Sheer White! Kit is advertised as a five day treatment and offers users 10 whitening strips total – five for the top set of teeth, and five for the bottom. It claims to work faster than the leading whitening strip brands, and promises that its strips fit and stick better to teeth than other brands. In the instructions it is recommended to store them in the refrigerator for maximum shelf life.

In use, it isn’t much different from other brands, either. The strips themselves are thicker than you may be used to, and a tiny bit cumbersome to apply, but they stick on your teeth. The directions advise the wearer to keep them on for one or two hours. I’ve also heard reports that they’re much easier to peel off after leaving them on a bit longer; if they’ve only been on 30 minutes, there’s a chance they’ll stick to your teeth and provide you a challenge.

Beyond that, the thickness of the plastic lets you know that they won’t slide around on your teeth. They’ll become whiter simply because the strip stays put. And with maximum whitening power, they’ll definitely get whiter.

After the treatment is complete, however long you decided to wear it for, just peel off the strips and throw them into the trash. Brushing your teeth after use is recommended to get rid of any remaining solution that may still be on your teeth, but afterward, look in the mirror and take a good look at your whiter teeth! Simple, right?

It is recommended to wait at least 7-10 days before beginning another 5 day Sheer White! treatment. Usually you only need 1 to 2 treatments per year.

Peroxide Content & Sensitivity

Sheer White whitening strips contain carbamide peroxide at 20% concentration. With a higher concentration of peroxide, the treatment period is shortened and results appear quicker. They do have a longer application time of 1 to 2 hours which may make you wonder how sensitive teeth can handle these strips. Teeth sensitivity can occur, but what you should know is that even though the concentration of peroxide is higher, carbamide peroxide is slower-releasing than hydrogen peroxide so it is a gentler process. Sheer White also uses sheer film technology which holds the strip's gel tight against the teeth instead of towards sensitive nerve endings. It is a good idea to speak to your dentist about your whitening options and desired outcomes if you are interested in this treatment.

Adhesive

As mentioned, the thickness of the material and the quality of the adhesive stays put so well that the strips probably won’t budge. Other strips are flimsy and perhaps could slide around a lot easier, so this takes some of the hassle out of the equation.

Pros & Cons of Sheer White Strips

  • Strips aren’t flimsy, won’t move around.
  • Maximum whitening strength.
  • Great price point.
  • Whitens teeth in a shorter treatment period than many take-home whitening kits!
  • Could potentially irritate gums.
  • Very thick solution.
  • Difficult to remove after a short duration.

DOES SHEER WHITE! LIVE UP TO ITS NAME?

The Sheer White! Kit makes a great teeth whitening set, whether it’s your first foray into at-home teeth whitening, or you’re a veteran in this game. The strips are versatile, letting you decide whether you just want a quick session, or the full power of the recommended treatment.

For the price point, the quality of strips cannot be beat, and the size of the strips allows insurance that they won’t move around in your mouth. They do what they’re supposed to: make your smile brighter.
